Out in the woods, I’ve tried all sorts of small tools for cutting dead wood. At first, it was a tiny Gransfors Bruk hatchet and a good knife…. Sharp? Absolutely – but also heavy, and on one trip I managed to cut myself. Alone & far from help, it was a reminder that even a small cut can become a real problem in the wild.
That’s why the LOFI Snips have been such a revelation. At just 129 grams, they’re incredibly light, and the clever triple-ratcheting action makes short work of 22mm sticks.
No knife, no hatchet — just one small, safe tool that does the job.
The SK5 steel blade stays sharp, and the soft-grip handle keeps things comfortable. There’s a little latch to keep them safely closed, and the compact size works for smaller hands — though larger hands have no problem either.

They’re not just for those with the LOFI Stove. Any small wood stove, twig stove, or open fire benefits from a quick stack of ready-to-go sticks. Quick cuts, minimal effort, and much safer than swinging a hatchet or knife around alone — these snips have earned a permanent place in my kit.
