Out in the woods, I’ve tried all sorts of small tools for cutting dead wood. At first, it was a tiny Gransfors Bruk hatchet and a good knife…. Sharp? Absolutely – but also heavy, and on one trip I managed to cut myself. Alone & far from help, it was a reminder that even a small cut can become a real problem in the wild.

Hi Jonni,
I am Eckart from Germany. As a forester I already use a garden scissor to cut twigs for my stoves. It is so easy to gather some sticks on a walk through the nearby woods and process them with a tool like your snips. There is even no need to buy wood pellets, because you can make a batch of twig snips and put them in a bag when on a hike.
I really look forward to getting the LOFI 2.0 stove and eager to use and cook with. I am already 71 now and some may think it is a bad idea to spent that much money on a little stove, but I don‘t care to be a little weird.

It sounds like we think very much alike. I nearly always carry a pair of snips too, and I completely agree that processing a small bag of twigs before a hike is a great way to guarantee dry fuel if you need it. It’s simple, lightweight and makes the whole experience much more enjoyable.
And as for being 71… I think that’s brilliant! If anything, it’s a good reminder that enjoying the outdoors has nothing to do with age. I don’t think it’s weird at all.
